Introduction

Galileo Galilei ?

Pisa, Italy (Birthplace)
Born on February 15th, 1564, in Pisa, Italy,  Galileo Galilei was an engineer, mathematician, physicist, philosopher and most importantly astronomer, who's work would be regarded as a major facet of the scientific revolution. The findings and hypotheses made by Galilei were often criticised, due to their nature of often being against the belief of the catholic church, the predominant religion base in Italy. In astronomy, Galileo Galilei's findings through the use of the telescope and his acceptance of the Copernican heliocentric system set the basis for which the modern knowledge of has been built on. Galileo is perhaps best known for his discovery of Jupiter having 4 moons and that the surface of our own moon, is rough and uneven, unlike smooth, which was the current belief in his time of existence. These being only 2 of his many contributions to Astronomy.
